Mining
Brazil is one of the world’s leading producers of colored stones. The states of Bahia and Minas Gerais are among the country’s most productive regions.
The small town of Campo Formoso, in the North-East of Bahia, 400 km from Salvador, is considered to be the center of Brazilian emerald production and perhaps one of the biggest in the world. The area where D.Kläy extracts its stones is called the Garimpo de Socotó, which is located 45 km from the town.
